SCREW ART / ARTE CON TORNILLOS

Born in Germany, raised in Spain and living in USA, Andrew Myers is a versatile and talented artist. His works cover multiple genres, such as sculpture, painting and charcoal drawings, but his personal and his most outstanding works are performed with screws.

His technique is between painting and sculpture, these art work is make with thousands of screws, creating volumes and later painted. The work is so laborious that he only makes 5 works of this caliber per year, but the results are amazing. 3D artwork that not only you can see but also can be touched

Nacido en Alemania, criado en España y afincado en USA, Andrew Myers  es una artista polifacético y con talento. Sus trabajos abarcan  varios géneros, como son la escultura, pintura y dibujos a carboncillo, pero su sello personal y sus obras más sobresalientes son las realizadas con tornillos.

Su técnica entre la pintura y la escultura, es un trabajo que elabora con miles de tornillos, creando volumenes, que pinta posteriormente. El trabajo es tan laborioso que sólo realiza 5 obras de este calibre por año, pero los resultados son sorprendentes.  Obras de arte en 3D para ser no sólo vistas, sino también tocadas.

A HOUSE THAT MAKES YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH IT / UNA CASA QUE ENAMORA

I am fascinated by photos of architectural details. Sometimes a small portion of building has more beauty contained that all the entire building, but I recognize that it necessary to have some special talent for knowing do that.

Jerome Wepierre, architect and component of the tandem b-mice has that talent, not only as applied to architecture, but also in  interior and exterior spaces. His instagram photo gallery (here) captures the beauty of the daily, revealing a world full of textures, geometry and light.

Until one day that he decided to photograph his house, and just …. I fell in love, and, you will agree with me, that some people are born with a special talent.

Me fascinan las fotos de detalles arquitectónicos. A veces  una pequeña porción de edificio tiene más belleza contenida que todo el edifico en sí, pero reconozco que hay que tener un talento especial para saber captarlo.

Jerome Wepierre, arquitecto y componente del tándem b-mice tiene ese talento, no sólo aplicado a la arquitectura, sino también espacios interiores y exteriores. Su galería de fotos en instagram (aqui) capta la belleza de lo cotidiano, revelando un mundo lleno de texturas, geometría y luz.

Hasta que un buen día  decidió fotografiar su casa, y simplemente….me enamoré, y es que, estareis de acuerdo conmigo, hay gente que nace con un talento especial.

INSIDE SWIMMING POOLS / PISCINAS DE INTERIOR

Now, that the summer is ending, you can imagine how wonderful would have an interior swimming pool…..Uf! it would be perfect, I choose the first one, and you?

Ahora, que se acaba el verano, os imaginais que estupendo sería poder tener una piscina de interior……Uf! que maravilla, yo me quedo con la primera y tú?.

TRUCOS PARA GANAR LUZ

The light is one of the most important elements to consider when we are decorating.  Exploit to the maximum the natural light and a good decoration in all the spaces strengthen the other decorative elements. Today I propose you some ideas  to take the most out of the light of your home.

A practical and functional solution to gain more light in the dark rooms (or if they have no windows) is the placement of translucent walls, and they don´t deduct privacy to the spaces.

La luz es uno de los elementos más importantes a tener en cuenta  a la hora de decorar. Aprovechar al máximo la luz natural y que todos los ambientes esten bien decorados potenciarán el resto de elementos decorativos y estancias. Hoy te proponemos algunas ideas para sacarle partido a la luz de tu casa.

Una solución práctica y funcional para ganar luz en estancias oscuras o que no disponen de ventanas, sin restar privacidad a las habitaciones, es la colocación de muros translúcidos.

In adjoining rooms, this same walls, but with transparent glass will  give the visual sensation that the room is bigger but will  not allow the passage of odors and noise.

En habitaciones contiguas estos mismos paramentos con vidrios transparentes daran la sensación visual de que la habitación es más grande pero no permitirán el paso de olores ni ruidos.

An opening in the wall could be a good idea to bring the light to the corridors.

Abrir vanos en pared puede ser una gran idea para hacer llegar la luz a pasillos.

A SAILOR COTTAGE / UN REFUGIO MARINERO

Located in the beautiful bay of  Mousehole (Cornwall), we find this beautiful guest house dating from the seventeenth century, and was an ancient fishing nets storehouse. “The Oyster Catcher” is considered one of the top “50 Best Self-catering Cottages” according to the Sunday Times magazine.

It is  entirely covered of wood and decorated in neutral grey and white tones. It is full of details from another era and with sailor style. A photos that I never tire of looking at.

Situada en la preciosa bahia de Mousehole (Cornualles), encontramos esta preciosa casa de huéspedes que data del siglo XVII , y era un antiguo almacen de redes de pescadores. “The Oyster Catcher” esta considerada como una de las mejores 50 “casitas de campo” según la revista Sunday Times.

Forrada en su totalidad de madera y decorada en tonos neutros blancos y grisaceos, esta llena de detalles de otra época y de marcado estilo marinero.  Unas imágenes que no me canso de mirar.

AN ATTIC IN SWEDEN / UN ÁTICO EN SUECIA

Without hesitation the Scandinavian style is my favorite, and I´m in love with this irregular Swedish attic, not only for the originality of the floor plan, including the nooks and the reform , but also because exudes comfort and style in every corner.

The hall is open to the living room to give it more space to the room, but at the same time the stairs, to go to the small loft, separates the spaces to preserve some privacy.

The roof of the building has a few towers that are reflected in the internal structure, ideal to the dining room.

The kitchen wins spaciousness being facing with the terrace, breaking the corridor effect distribution.

70 m2 well used that stand out for their decoration, lighting and use of  neutral colors.

Sin dudarlo el estilo escandinavo es mi favorito, y este ático irregular sueco me tiene enamorada, no sólo por la originalidad de la planta, incluyendo los recovecos y la reforma que le ha hecho su propietario, sino porque destila confort y estilo por todos sus rincones.

El hall se encuentra abierto al salón para darle más amplitud a la estancia, pero a su vez las escaleras que suben hacía el pequeño altillo separan las estancias para conservar un poco de intimidad.

El tejado del edifico tiene unos torreones que se reflejan en la estructura interior, ideales para albergar el comedor.

La cocina gana amplitud visual al estar enfrentada a la terraza, rompiendo el efecto pasillo de su distribución.

70 m2 bien aprovechados que destacan por su cuidada decoración, luminosidad y la utilización de colores claros.

I´M BACK / HE VUELTO

Ufff! after so much time off, back to the routine is being a little hard, but I admit that I’ve missed you. Here you have some photos of  my summer and I have in mind about tomorrow’s post.

CLOSED FOR HOLIDAYS / CERRADO POR VACACIONES

Finally the awaited day came!  I will miss you but from today until August 15th I’ll be out. I wish you a good holidays. (and I see you after vacations).

Por fin llego el día esperado! Bueno, os echaré de menos pero desde hoy hasta el 15  de agosto estare out. os deseo una buenas vacaciones a tod@s (y os espero a la vuelta).

A GUEST HOUSE IN THE BUDAPEST COUNTRYSIDE / UNA CASA DE INVITADOS EN LA CAMPIÑA DE BUDAPEST

If I think in Budapest, the pictures that came to my mind are very different from these that I show you. This beautiful little guest house for rent (whose name is Pippins) is  in the middle of the countryside located in the Hungary capital.

What do you seem to wake up in the morning, and take a bath in this crystal waters of a pool, surrounded by lavender and vineyards, to enjoyed later of one of the most beautiful cites of Europe?

A rustic and romantic decoration for those who look for a different and relaxing way to do tourism.

Si pienso en Budapest, las imágenes que me vienen a la cabeza son bien diferentes a lo que reflejan las fotografías que os muestro,  y es que esta preciosa casita de invitados de alquiler -de nombre Pippins– se encuentra en medio de una campiña situada en la capital Húngara.

Qué os parecería desperta por la mañana, y daros un baño en esta piscina de aguas cristalinas rodeados de lavanda y viñedos, para poder disfrutar más tarde de una de las ciudades más bonitas de Europa.

Una decoración campestre y romántica para aquellos que buscan una manera diferente y relajada de hacer turismo.

CHARMING SWEDISH APARTMENT / APARTAMENTO SUECO CON ENCANTO

From 1900 dates the building of this swedish house located in Goteborg, whose owners have been dedicated to restore and maintain with care. It has 61 square meters and stands very luminous in this apartment with clear scandinavian aesthetic, where we can enjoy of a  wonderful enviroment and the wall and the floor are melted in the same color in order to maximize light, and a care in the selection of the design furniture without recharging in excess the rooms (as stipulated in canons of scandinavian decor).

De 1900  data el edificio de esta vivienda sueca situado en Goteborg,  cuyos dueños se han dedicado a restaurar y mantener con mimo.  61 metros cuadrados y mucha luminosidad destacan en este apartamento con clara estética escandinava, en el cual podemos disfrutar de un maravilloso entorno, suelo y pared se funden en un mismo color para potenciar al máximo la luz  y un cuidado en la selección de lo muebles de diseño sin recargar en exceso las estancias (como mandan los cánones de la decoración escandinava).
