OFFICE IN A CLOSET / ZONA DE TRABAJO EN UN ARMARIO

If the house has not enough rooms this reason is not an excuse for not having a small space for an office, with a little economic inversion we can fit a closet and convert it in a complete zone of work. Today i show you 15 examples to do it.

No tener habitaciones suficientes en la casa no es excusa para no tener una pequeña zona de trabajo, con muy poca inversión económica podemos adaptar un armario y convertirla en una completa zona de trabajo. Hoy os enseño 15 ejemplos de como hacerlo.

If you decide not remove the doors, these are extra space that will serve you to store.

Si decides no eliminar las puertas estas te servirán de espacio extra para almacenar.

Don´t forget the electric installation that you would need.

No olvides hacer la instalación eléctrica que puedas necesitar.

You can use a sliding doors closet too. You can transform a module of the wardrobe in an office that you can close when you are not using it.

No sólo los armario de obra pueden servirnos. Puedes convertir todo un módulo de armario corredero en una zona de trabajo que queda oculta cuando no la estes utilizando.

If you decide to remove the doors, you will gain amplitude in the room.

Si decides eliminar las puertas, ganarás amplitud en la habitación.

A beautiful wall paper or a different paint colour  than the rest of the room, make emphasize your working space.

Un papel bonito o una pintura diferente a la de la estancia hará que tu zona de trabajo destaque.

If the cabinet is generously sized you can combine it with a reading area.

Si el armario es de grandes dimensiones puedes combinarlo con un espacio de lectura.

If you are someone who needs a large wardrobe, why not devote an entire room to it and turn the closet room in the working area.

Si eres de los que necesita un armario grande, por qué no destinar una habitación entera para ello y convertir el armario de la habitación en la zona de trabajo.

ACAPULCO CHAIR / SILLA ACAPULCO

In the 50s the Acapulco beaches became famous, the most chic and glamorous people of Hollywood had chosen this mexican city  to spend their holidays. Next to the famous cliff of ” La Quebrada” was born this chair. It was made for an anonymous designer, and it adopted the name of the city, becoming  an icon of XX century.

They made it emulating mayan weaving techniques, and with the wefts separated for have more ventilation and freshness due to the high mexican temperatures. But today we can find it  with another materials more evolved and resistant, and different version of the chair (rocker, for kids…). Today it´s not only an excellent chair for outside, even more and more we can see it in indoors because its design make it a polyvalent chair.

En los años 50 las playas de Acapulco se hicieron famosas, la gente más chic y glamurosa de Hollywood había escogido esta ciudad mejicana para pasar su vacaciones. Junto al famoso acantilado de “La Quebrada” nació esta silla, que al ser de un diseñador anónimo, adoptó el nombre de la ciudad que la vió nacer, convirtiendose así en un icóno del siglo XX.

Esta hecha emulando las técnicas de tejido maya, y con las tramas separadas para conseguir mayor ventilación y frescura debido a las altas temperaturas mejicanas, aunque hoy en día nos la encontramos con otros materiales más evolucionados y resistentes, así como en diversas versiones (mecedoras, para niños…). Ya no sólo es una excelente silla de exteriores, sino que cada vez la podemos ver más en interiores, porque su diseño la hacen una silla polivalente.

A PERFECT CABIN ON THE BEACH / UNA CABAÑA PERFECTA EN LA PLAYA

A new concept of cabin on the beach is possible, with all the luxuries at your disposal, with care interiors and above all a gorgeous views for enjoying all the beautiful dawns on the Whitsand´s beach (Cornwall). The best of all is that we don´t have to get up from the bed to do it, we have only to open the door. The environment is unsurpassable, a cliff over the beach where anyone can be a Robinson Crusoe.

MY NEW SOFA/ MI SOFÁ NUEVO

Finally, after looking around 1.500 sofas, we have made a decision. Before this, we have had thousands of doubts ….. when we saw it we didn´t spend more than half a second to decide, it was the one we were looking for so long and the sofa will be with us on the 28th August. What do you think?

Por fin nos hemos decidido después de mirar mil quinientos, de tener mil dudas….. cuando lo vimos nos falto medio segundo para decidirnos, era él, el que habíamos estado buscando por tanto tiempo y estará con nosotros el 28 de agosto.  Qué os parece?

RECYCLING SHUTTERS / RECICLANDO CONTRAVENTANAS

Some years ago, my mother in law changed all the shutters from her house, these was of wood (mallorquina kind), to put in its place the same kind but in aluminium, these are more practical and don´t need maintenance.  Well, I told her if she could keep a couple of them because I wanted to make me a headboard.

I was only thinking in that I had to sand and painting it, but finally I never find the time to do it and I said her that she can throw them (because the poor woman had the shutters in her house all this time). You don´t know how much I regret for that!!!! I could  use it in the way that they were and that would be more beautiful.

Hace unos años mi suegra cambió todas las contraventanas de su casa, que eran de madera mallorquina, para colocarlas con el mismo diseño pero en aluminio, las cuáles son más prácticas y no requieren de mantenimiento. Pues bien, le pedí que me guardara un par de ellas porque quería hacerme un cabecero con ellas.

Me empeciné en que debía pintarlas y lijarlas, pero al final nunca encontraba el tiempo para hacerlo y le acabé diciendo que las tirara (ya que la probre las tenía en su casa esperandome). No sabeis cuanto me arrepiento!!!!! las podía haber utilizado tal cual estaban y me hubiesen quedado incluso más bonitas.

A ROMANTIC STYLE HOUSE IN CORNWALL / UNA CASA DE ESTILO ROMÁNTICO EN CORNUALLES

On the bank of Atlantic Ocean we can find one of the most picturesque and beautiful villages of the England coast: Mousehole (West Cornwall), and as if we are in a fairy tale, we found this beautiful guest home able to transport us to another time.

The loft, call “The Herringbone”, is one of the properties of Unique Home Stays, they are devoted rent exclusives houses with similar characteristics that I show you today.

A bucolic ambient where predominated the color white in diverse tonality playing with the warm of the wood and the textiles. A place that invited its guest to be enveloped in a romantic halo.

Of course a perfect place for be on holidays, I can image myself drinking coffee sitting near the window looking the  ships leaving the port…….

A orillas del Océano Atlántico encontramos uno de los pueblos más pintoresco y bonitos de las costas inglesas: Mousehole (Cornualles), y como si de un cuento de hadas se tratara, encontramos esta preciosa vivienda capaz de transportarnos a otra época.

La vivienda, llamada “La Espiga”, es una de las propiedades de Unique Home Stays, dedicado al alquiler de casa exclusivas con características similares a las que hoy os mostramos.

Un ambiente bucólico donde predominan el blanco en sus diversas tonalidades jugando con la calidez de la madera y de los textiles. Un lugar que invitan a sus huespedes a dejarse envolver por un halo romántico.

Desde luego un lugar perfecto para pasar una estancia, yo ya me imagino tomando un café a pie de la ventana oteando los barcos que abandonan el puerto….

Siguiendo las últimas tendencias decorativas y añadiendole el plus de que además puedes personalizarlo con el cable de color que más te gusta.

A B&B IN TOTAL WHITE / Un B&B TOTALMENTE EN BLANCO

A total white look with a deep minimalist character is that we can find in this Bed and Breakfast located in Tielrode (Belgium), perhaps the fact that the owner, Sofie Lachaert, Is a jewelery designer and gallery owner is influencing the concept and decoration of this space, following the applied arts ideas.

The building, is an older shipyard, where are exhibited functional pieces  of different designers and are also for sale.

Un look totalmente en blanco de marcado carácter minimalista es el que nos encontramos en este Bed and Breakfast de Tielrode (Bélgica), quizás el hecho de que la propietaria, Sofie Lachaert, sea orfebre y galerista influye en la concepción y decoración de este espacio, siguiendo el concepto de artes aplicadas.

El edificio , es un antiguo astillero, donde se exhiben piezas funcionales  de diversos diseñadores y  que también se encuentran a la venta.
