Located en Ibiza (Spain), we can find this house, with spectacular views to the Mediterranean sea. It was finished in 2012 by Juma Architects from Belgium.

A contemporary and luxurious house that began with the idea to join two independents duplex, for that reason it has two pools that they have been keeping making a unique terrace with different levels.

Pure lines, neutral tones and a relaxing atmosphere.

The most that I like it is the float bed in the principal bedroom, combined with rustic wood and the white color.

Situada en Ibiza (España),  encontramos esta casa con espectaculares vistas al Mediterraneo. terminada en 2012 por el grupo Juma Architects de Bélgica.

Una casa contemporanea y de lujo, que comenzó con la idea de fusionar dos duplex independientes, de hay que tenga dos piscinas que se han mantenido creando una terraza con diferentes niveles.

Lineas puras, colores neutros y una atmosfera relajante.

Lo que más me gusta es la cama flotante en ángulo en  el dormitorio principal combinando madera rústica con la estancia en blanco.

The Mother´s Day (in Span) is closer, and with that excuse,  I take to write about my favorite products of a swedish trademark that I have met for living in Norway.

Åhlens was born in 1899 and is a brand that contains fashion, accessories, makeup and the most that I like it, accessories for the home. Very well know in Sweden, also they have stores in Norway, and their products are looking the design and that are available for  the public, for that reason they buy their products from all over the world and  they collaborate with swedish designers to have their own unique products.

Se acerca el Día de la Madre, y con la excusa, aprovecho para poner mis productos favoritos de una marca sueca que he conocido a raiz de vivir en Noruega.

Åhlens nació en 1899 y es una marca que contiene moda, complementos, maquillaje y sobre todo y lo que a mi me fascina,  los complementos para el hogar. Muy conocidos en Suecia, también tiene tiendas en Noruega, y sus productos  buscan el diseño y que sean asequibles a todo el público, para ello compran productos de todas partes del mundo y colaboran a su vez con diseñadores suecos para tener productos únicos.

The culture of reuse and recycling, of which I have spoken sometime, still gaining strength. Boxes and wrappers that before ended up in the trash are increasingly used and gain more space in our homes, wine boxes, fruit boxes … we pain it, wallpapering,  to put wheels on it, or just leave them as they are. La cultura de reutilizar y de reciclar, de la que os he hablado alguna vez, sigue ganando fuerza. THE SILKEN PUERTA AMÉRICA MADRID HOTEL / EL HOTEL SILKEN PUERTA AMÉRICA MADRID

When we talk about this hotel we have a totally different way to approach this type of building than usual. It becomes a 5 stars masterpiece.

19 different architectural firms and designers, from 13 different countries have participated, to give each of the 12 floors  a different concept, using various materials, colors and shapes. Turning it into an eclectic space where the guest can interact with the environment.

Cuando hablamos de este hotel estamos ante una manera totalmente diferente de enfocar este tipo de edificación  de lo que es habitual. Se convierte en una obra maestra de 5 estrellas.

19 diferentes estudios de arquitectura y diseñadores , de 13 nacionalidades distintas han intervenido, para darle a cada una de las 12 plantas un concepto diferente, utilizando diversos materiales, colores y formas. Convirtiendolo en un espacio ecléctico donde el huesped puede interactuar con el entorno.

• FLOOR -1: The garage, by Teresa Sapey, becomes a play of color and graphics, using the poem “Freedom” by Paul Éluard.

PLANTA -1: El garaje, por Teresa Sapey, se transforma en un juego de color y grafismo, utilizando para ello el poema “Libertad” de Paul Éluard.

• FLOOR 00: Reception and Lounges, by John Pawson. It is characterized by minimalism, the use of wood and the author’s intention to show a continuous space. Remarkable the semicircle panel to hide the reception and stone canal through which water flows, to awaken the senses of the customer.

PLANTA 00: La recepción y salones, por John Pawson. Se caracteriza por el minimalismo, el uso de la madera y la intencionalidad del autor por mostrar un espacio continuo. A destacar al panel en semicirculo para esconder la recepción y el canal de piedra por el que circula el agua, para despertar los sentidos del cliente.

• FLOOR 01: rooms by Zaha Hadid, fluidity and play of lines make up this plan to create fluid spaces. Sinuous shapes and curves like science fiction. Stresses the LED lighting on the doors because from inside the room can be programmed messages for the hotel staff. The material used is LG-HiMacs, very ductile.

PLANTA 01: habitaciones por Zaha Hadid, fluidez y juegos de líneas componen esta planta para crear espacios fluidos. Formas sinuosas y curvas como de ciencia ficción. Destaca la iluminación en leds sobre las puertas, desde el interior de la habitación pueden programarse mensajes para el personal del hotel. El material utilizado es LG-HiMacs, un material muy dúctil.

• FLOOR 02: Game of forms and materials by Norman Foster, has been used as inspiration the color palette of the Basque sculptor Eduardo Chillida, for which uses materials such as leather in different tones, glass backlit translucent and onyx  all together make up an elegant and spaciousness space.

PLANTA 02: juego de formas y materiales por Norman Foster,  ha utilizado de inspiración  la paleta de colores del escultor vasco Eduardo Chillida, para lo cuál utiliza materiales como el cuero en diferentes tonalidades, vidrio traslúcido retroiluminado y el onix que en su conjunto conforman un espacio elegante y de amplitud espacial.

• FLOOR 03: Luxury and privacy by David Chipperfield, it will be served for the use of materials such as terracotta and marble, and a play of lights to show depth and geometric use of space. The black color make up a very masculine space in the rooms broken by a DM panel painted in blue at the roof.

PLANTA 03: lujo e intimidad por David Chipperfield, para ello se servirá del uso de materiales como la terracota y el mármol, y un juego de luces para  mostrar profundidad y el uso geométrico del espacio. El color negro conforma un espacio muy masculino, roto en las habitaciones por un panel de DM lacado en azul colocado en el techo.

• FLOOR 04: the most risky of all the floors, by Plasma Studio, they were a part of this project after winning a contest. Geometric lines and cold materials such as stainless steel. A big spaceship is what the client feels upon entering this floor, all combined with different colored lighting for a feeling reinforced. The same piece of steel gives form to hallway and the interior of the rooms.

PLANTA 04: la más arriesgada de todas  las plantas, por Plasma Studio, estos llegaron a formar parte de este proyecto tras ganar un concurso. Líneas geométricas y materiales fríos como el acero inoxidable. Una gran nave espacíal es lo que el cliente siente al entrar en esta planta, todo combinado con una iluminación de diferentes colores para reforza esa sensación. La misma pieza de acero da forma al pasillo y al interior de la habitaciones.

• FLOOR 05: the fashions designers Victorio & Lucchino, are in charge of this floor project. Warm materials like velvet, linen and cotton are used by the designers. Artworks of artist Sergio Cruz on the wall where the headboard is located, personalized for each room, and furniture designed by them complete this floor.

PLANTA 05: los diseñadores de moda, Victorio & Lucchino, son los encargados del proyecto de esta planta. Materiales cálidos como el terciopelo, lino y algodón son los utilizados por los modistos. Obras de arte del artista Sergio Cruz en la pared donde se situa el cabecero, personalizadas para cada habitación,  y muebles diseñados por ellos completan esta planta.

• FLOOR 06: The author, Marc Newson, was based on his own personal experience to do what he wanted it to be a hotel room. A suggestive atmosphere and modern with red lacquered walls for the common areas, and gray and white, more relaxing for rooms. The material most prominent is the one-piece marble used in the bathroom (this material will be repeated in the MarmoBar, designed by the same).

PLANTA 06:  El autor, Marc Newson, se basó en su propia experiencia personal, para hacer todo lo que el deseaba que fuese una habitación de hotel. Un ambiente surgerente y moderno con paramentos lacados en rojo para las zonas comunes, y el gris y blanco, más relajantes para las habitaciones. El material más destacado el mármol de una sola pieza utilizado en el baño (este material se repetira en el MarmoBar, diseñado por el mismo).

• FLOOR 07: High Tech and rounded shapes by Ron Arad. Partitions curved as the central axis and to separate the different uses of the room. Big round beds complete this set.

PLANTA07: formas redondeadas y High Tech, por Ron Arad. Tabiques curvos como eje central y para separar los diferentes usos de la habitación. Grandes camas redondas completan este conjunto.

• FLOOR 08: Interactivity with the customer is what the architect Kathryn Findlay wanted, for it has resorted to the mix between technology and architecture availing especially of lighting. Absence of partitions and doors is also one of its premises using curtains to separate rooms spaces.

PLANTA 08: Interactividad con el cliente es lo que buscaba la arquitecto Kathryn Findlay, para ello ha recurrido a la mezcla entre tecnología y arquitectura valiendose, sobre todo, de la iluminación. Ausencia de tabiques y puertas también es una de sus premissa utilizando cortinas para la separación de espacios en las habitaciones.

• FLOOR 09: The industrial touch is given by Richard Gluckman, for that, he mixs different materials like aluminum, plastic, fiber cement and glass translucent, and he combined the blue and yellow colors depending on the orientation of the room.

PLANTA 09: el toque industrial lo da Richard Gluckman,  para ello mezclará diversos materiales como el aluminio, plástico, fibrocemento y vidrio traslúcido, y combinará los colores azul y amarillo dependiendo de la orientación de la habitación.

• FLOOR 10: Japanese tradition by Arata Isozaki, oriental details and contrasts. Japanese Tradition and its minimalist construmbres prevail in the environment, with dark colors but well lit. The bathroom however in light colors and using inoki wood.

PLANTA 10: tradición japonesa por Arata Isozaki, detalles orientales a base de contrastes. La tradición japonesa y sus construmbres minimalistas reinan en el ambiente, con colores oscuros pero bien iluminados. El baño sin embargo en colores claros y utilizando madera de inoki.

• FLOOR 11: With seal of the author, Javier Mariscal and Fernando Salas, have designed perhaps the simplest floor of the Hotel, but which combine art with design and architecture. Great embossing and works by th edesigner is the most representative of this area.

PLANTA 11: Con sello del autor, Javier Mariscal y Fernando Salas, han proyectado quizás las planta más sencilla del Hotel, pero donde conjugan el arte con el diseño y la arquitectura. Grandes estampados y obras del diseñador son las grandes representativas de este espacio.

• FLOOR 12: by Jean Nouvel, the walls of the suites exhibit the works of two photographers (Nobuyoshi Araki and Alain Fleischer). And sliding panels for the customer to arrange the space to his/her liking.

PLANTA 12: fotografías por Jean Nouvel,  las paredes de las suites exponen las obras de dos fotógrafos (Nobuyoshi Araki y Alain Fleischer). Y paneles correderos para que el cliente pueda ordenar el espacio a su gusto.

RAIN / LLUVIA

As you know I am living in Bergen (Norway), the most rainy city in Europe. This year, the spring, was very atypical, we had a lot of sunny days (but a lot of cold too), in fact we have had the same sunny days now, that during all the last year…..but in this moment the rain is back, and it has been raining the last three days all the time.

For that reason my inspiration today is the Funnel Wall in Dresden (Germany), because the raining days could be specials (and because I am trying to convince myself). This wall is made for doing music during the raining days, a beautiful example of urban art.

Como todos sabeis vivo en Bergen (Noruega), la ciudad más lluviosa de Europa. Este año el comienzo de la primavera ha sido bastante atípico, ya que hemos tenido muchos días de sol (aunque también mucho frío), de hecho hemos tenido ya, los mismo días de sol que tuvimos durante todo el año pasado….pero ya hemos vuelto a la normalidad y ya lleva tres días lloviendo sin parar.

Por eso mi inspiración de hoy es la Funnel wall (pared embudo) de la ciudad de Dresden (Alemania), reivindicando también que los días de lluvia pueden ser especiales (y básicamente intentando concienciarme a mi misma), y es que esta pared esta concevida para crear música los días de lluvia, un precioso ejemplo de arte urbano.

WITH VIEWS TO THE GUGGENHEIM / CON VISTAS AL GUGGENHEIM

The spanish magazine Nuevo Estilo  recently presented us this apartment in Bilbao, Spain (more information here). Renovated by the interior architect Itziar Echebarría, she had very clear, at the beginning of the project, that the objective would be to enhance the wonderful views of the Guggenheim´s Museum,  for this she used a neutral base on floor and walls, and a strategic lighting helped to create an intimate atmosphere.

La revista Nuevo Estilo nos presentó hace poco este apartamento en Bilbao (más información aquí). Reformado por la interiorista Itziar Echebarría, tuvo muy claro al comenzar el proyecto que el objetivo sería potenciar las maravillosas vistas al Museo Guggenheim, para ello ha utilizado una base neutra en suelo y paredes, y se ha ayudado de una iluminación estratégica para crear una atmósfera íntima.

The living room, along with the idea of neutral base, has been decorated in white and gray, with small touches of color in accessories, which gives a sober and elegant look.

El salón, siguiendo con el enfoque de base neutra, ha sido decorado en tonos blancos y grises, con pequeños toques de color en los complemetos, lo que le da un aspecto sobrio y elegante.

The apartment is also converted into a small museum, because the works of art and the antique´s collections of the owners. The interior designer  has used the technic lights to stand out the pictures.

Another trick used by Itziar, is to paint the ceiling of the corridor in black color and use a transversal striped rug to soften the feeling of narrowing.

El apartamento se convierte también en un pequeño museo, debido a las obras de arte y colecciones de objetos antiguos de los propietarios. La interiorista ha recurrido a una iluminación técnica para resaltarlas.

Otro de los trucos utilizados por Itziar, es pintar el techo del  pasillo de color negro y utilizar una alfombra de rayas transversales para matizar la sensación de estrechez.

THE TREE HOTEL

When I was a child I dreamed of having a house on a tree, a secret club, and I suppose that I´m not the only one, I’m sure some of you also ever thought on it. Sometimes there are people who are in charge for realizing those children´s dreams.

The Tree Hotel (Sweden), is this dream come true, but with completely different designs than we are expecting. The architects, who were involved in the project, had challenged to design these “cabins” without knowing that his companions was doing, fusing architecture and nature, and with every possible comfort.

The result: 5 rooms completely different from each other. Every one perfect depending what are you looking for.

De pequeña soñaba con tener una casa en un árbol, un club secreto, y supongo que no soy la única, seguro que alguno de vosotros también lo ha pensado alguna vez. A veces hay personas que se encargan de hacer realidad esos sueños de niños.

El  Tree Hotel (Suecia),  es este sueño hecho realidad, pero con diseños totalmente diferentes a lo esperado. Los arquitectos, que se vieron involucrados en el proyecto, tenían el reto de diseñar estas “cabañas” sin saber que harían su compañeros, fusionando arquitectura y naturaleza, y con todas las comodidades posibles.

El resultado: 5 habitaciones totalmente diferentes entre ellas. Cada una perfecta dependiento de lo que busques.

15 CUSHIONS TO RENEW YOUR HOME THIS SPRING /15 COJINES PARA RENOVAR TU CASA ESTA PRIMAVERA

A trick to renovate the house, without a high cost and with the same furniture, is by changing the textiles of the home. It is important that more bulky furniture in the house, as the sofa and chairs are in neutral tones and we will haven´t problems in combining different colors and patterns. Also paint the walls  in not too striking and smooth colors. We can create a different environment for the winter/fall and one for spring/summer.

The current trend is the mix of textures, gradients and especially the printing of illustrations, photos and text. This year, I advance that we will see many butterflies. Fluor colors not abandon us, but will be combined with smooth neutral tones to soften them. The geometric patterns with mixed colors will also have a strong presence .

Un truco para renovar la casa, sin hacer un elevado gasto y con los mismos muebles, es cambiando los textiles del hogar. Es importante que los muebles más voluminosos de la estancia, como el sofá y sillones estén en tonos neutros, así no tendremos problemas a la hora de combinar diferentes colores y dibujos. También nos ayudará que la pintura de la paredes no sea muy llamativa, que sea lisa y esten en esa misma paleta de tonos neutros, para que no nos condicionen  si queremos ir renovando cada cierto tiempo esta decoración, por ejemplo, si queremos crear un ambiente diferente para las estaciones de invierno/otoño y otra para primavera/verano.

La tendencía actual es la mezcla de texturas, degradados y sobre todo la impresión de ilustraciones, fotos y textos. Este año, os adelanto que vamos a ver muchas mariposas. Los colores fluor no nos abandonan, pero estaran combinados con lisos de tonos neutros para suavizarlos. También tendran una fuerte presencia los dibujos geométricos  con mezclas de colores.

HOME SWEDISH HOME

Lotta Agaton’s house (a famous Swedish interior) is the perfect example of Nordic interior, as the design of the furniture, the materials chosen and especially the color, the perfect coordination between white and black, broken only by the vegetation and decorative objects, all in an intense green bottle color. A house full of inspiring details to start the week.

La casa de Lotta Agaton (una famosa interiorista sueca) es el perfecto ejemplo del interiorismo nórdico, en cuanto el diseño de los muebles, los materiales escogidos y sobre todo el color;  la coordinación perfecta entre el blanco y negro, rota unicamente por las vegetación y objetos decorativos, todos de un color verde botella intenso. Un casa llena de rincones inspiradores para empezar la semana.

THE WONDERFUL AENAON VILLAS / LAS MARAVILLOSAS VILLAS AENAON

At the top of a cliff, located in the Cyclades archipelago, particularly in Santorini (Greece) we found this idyllic, small and luxury boutique hotel consists of 7 villas.

The whitewashed building, typical of the Cycladic architecture, makes it stand out against the volcanic landscape of the island. A place where tradition and luxury meets together.

The interior is simple, elegant and in white color, in the same way that the outside line. The touch of color is the sky and the Aegean Sea, a beautiful contrast as you can see in the photos.

En lo alto de un acantilado, situado en el Archipiélago de las Cícladas, concretamente en Santorini (Grecia) encontramos este idílico, pequeño y lujoso hotel  formado por 7 villas.

El  edificio encalado en blanco, típico de la arquitectura Cíclada, hace que destaque más sobre el paisaje volcánico de la isla. Un lugar donde la tradición se une con el lujo.

La decoración interior es sencilla, elegante y en color blanco, siguiendo la línea exterior. La nota de color lo ponen el cielo y el Mar Egeo, un precioso contraste como podeis ver en las fotos.
